Tweaking your windows machine may not even really help you.
We've all seen some of these suggestions to squeeze every last little bit of performance out of your Windows machine, but do they really work?
Lifehacker has a pretty good writeup of the most popular tweaks making the rounds today, then goes on to explain that none of them help you at all, and in some cases may even actually harm the performance of your computer.
So, if you are a tweaker, you may want to give this one a good read.

In the days of my youth
You know, I used to tweak my OS a bunch, but not anymore. Back in the DOS days, it helped a lot, but I haven't seen much of an improvement since XP SP2 or so.
